Hinesh Chauhan spent 18.5 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, enlisted at 17 and commissioned from the ranks. He cleared landmines in Kosovo, working alongside NATO and UN intelligence tools in conditions where sequencing errors were not theoretical. They were fatal.
That discipline carried into civilian infrastructure work, where he managed a $38B real property portfolio with an annual capital program approaching half a billion dollars, holding variance under 0.5 percent in a system where 20 percent was the accepted norm. He helped stand up the CSE Canada facility, the country's first federal public private partnership, and divested 107 marine assets in under two years.
He founded Evolūt Consulting in 2022, built directly from what that career taught him: capability without sequence is just expensive chaos.
Between May 2019 and June 2020, Hinesh went through an autoimmune episode that forced a reckoning he had not planned for. The same load-bearing role that made him indispensable to the institutions he served was also the thing breaking him down — physically, not metaphorically.
In 2022, he founded Evolūt Consulting to build that missing layer — for himself first, then for the founders and operators carrying the same weight.
Hinesh's brother served in Canada's special forces. He died by suicide — a loss that sits at the center of why Hinesh treats institutional and personal load-bearing as the same problem, not two separate ones.
On February 1, 2021, Hinesh gave testimony before the House of Commons Standing Committee on National Defence. He spoke not as a critic of the institution, but as someone who understood from the inside how the weight of service goes unaccounted for — and what it costs when no one is tracking it.
